THE FASHION FUTURIST

Stop, collaborate & listen

I love seeing a fabulous collaboration; successful initiatives between two completely unique talents brought together over a shared interest, creating something beautiful and in many instances a “one off” product, design, experience or event.

I have always believed that collaboration is not only a great way of attracting an entirely new customer to your brand but it will also allow to see how other “creatives” run their businesses. Shared knowledge is a very powerful thing within collaboration and makes for the most successful of outcomes for everyone involved.

Rhys Lee X Gorman

As fashion is always at the forefront of any new trend it is no surprise that we are the pioneers when it comes to collaborations. Locally, fashion designers such as Lisa Gorman have been collaborating with artists to add limited edition prints to their seasonal collections. Lisa is somewhat of a leader when it comes to being super collaborative and has been joining forces with some of her favourite people since 2012. Lisa got together on her second collab with her long time friend and artist Rhys Lee to create The Rhys Lee X Gorman collection.

Garance Doré X Rifle Paper Co.

A couple of weeks ago now I stumbled across the latest cross contamination of style between French fashion illustrator, photographer and author, Garance Doré and the American paper goods power house, Rifle Paper Co. Their collaboration Made With Love is a collection of “social stationery” ranging from gift cards and note pads to calendars and IPhone cases. My first purchase from the range will be the Friends Social Stationery Set as featured here on Telegram Paper Goods. This partnership of lifestyle products will be available to buy this month and I can’t wait to get over to Colette in Paris when we visit this June to see the collection in person.

What are some of the best collaborations you have seen and what would be your dream partnership?
