The traditional paired back nature of the francophile fashionista was nowhere to be seen on the streets during Paris Fashion Week this season, (except for a classic red-lip here and there). Instead, there seemed to be an overwhelming desire to stand out in a crowd, expressed through a colour vehicle of print - check, tartan, plaid, houndstooth and even argyle made a return. What impressed me most about this bold movement was the almost seamless ability to blend patterns together (the image above captured by Garance Doré, a perfect example of a well executed gathering of patterns). Is pattern here to stay? I hope so, bring back the plaid!
